About SSI Surgeons

It takes an average of 14-15 years to become a member of the Venezuelan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery which is the Venezuelan equivalent of the U.S. American Board of Plastic Surgery.

All of our Plastic Surgeons are Board Certified with the Venezuean Society of Plastic Surgery and most are also board certified with one or more of the following Plastic Surgeon Associations:

IPRAS International Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Society
FILACP Ibero Latinamerican Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Federation
Brazilian Society Craniomaxilofacial Surgery
Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery
Buenos Aires Society of Plastic Surgery
Peruvian Society of Plastic Surgery

The following is the requirements for an individual to become Board Certified with the Venezuelan Society of Plastic Surgery.

Six (6) years at University to graduate as a General Doctor.
Two (2) years rotatory residency.
Three (3) years General Surgery postgraduate degree.
Three (3) years Plastic, Reconstructive and Maxillofacial postgraduate degree involving the following fields:

Surgery for burned patients
Maxillofacial Surgery
Reconstructive Surgery
Reconstructive Oncologic Surgery
Pediatric Plastic Surgery
Implantology
Microvascular Surgery
Body & Face Plastic Surgery.
